I know that many of you already have a solid grasp on this subject, but I've received enough feedback to know that there are also a lot of people who can't seem to wrap their head around the measurement. I think it may be because of the confusion between machine guns and what the media sells as such, just simple self-loading rifles. In the case of the latter, I guess measuring the speed in which it's fired may indeed seem subjective and silly. BUT we know that machine guns are REAL machine guns, and as a machine, they function on their own with a steady cyclic rate. This is the tool we use to measure it.
