In this video we are going to explore the reasons why piston guns make poor hosts for your sound suppressors. Quick version: silencers are all about gas regulation, they add extra back pressure to a system that was designed to not have a restriction at the point that it now does. This forces extra gas into places that it would otherwise not be. In piston guns this is most often manifested in excessive port pop by either forcing the gas out the vent port or by sending it right back down the barrel.
