An emergency signal kit needs to be effective, yet small enough and easy enough to carry so that you bring it around everywhere you go to begin with. I put together this kit to work together with what I always carry on me anyways so that it builds a system. The mirror gives me the ability to fix my contact lenses as well as serve as a sunny day signaling device, and the pouch that houses it protects the mirror from scratches and is also extra duct tape should I need it. When designing a minimalist kit, you should have multiple uses for each item in mind, otherwise it's just dead weight.
