Colt's Richards-Mason 1851 Navy Cartridge Conversion Revolvers

In the 1870s Colt was faced with the prospect of owning a huge inventory of .36 caliber, 1851 Navy cap & ball revolver parts, but having no market for cap and ball revolvers. Their solution was to use the Richards-Mason system to convert them to fire brass, .38 Colt cartridges.

In this video I'll be shooting a custom built Richards-Mason 1851 Navy cartridge conversion revolver.
