Glock 42 G42 ammo test: Buffalo Bore 27/G .380 ACP

I had the opportunity to use a Glock 42 for a little while, and conducted some terminal ballistics ammo tests using it. This is the second of three videos from that testing.

I previously have conduced extensive testing on .380 ACP from the micro-pistols (such as the Ruger LCP or Taurus TCP) that use a 2.8" barrel. Some of the ammo I tested didn't perform well from that short barrel; sometimes rounds would fail to expand, for example. The Glock 42 has a longer barrel, at 3.25". I wanted to see how those inconsistent bullets might perform with this longer barrel. Accordingly, I selected the Buffalo Bore 27/G 90-grain hollowpoints at standard pressure, for testing. In my testing with them from the 2.8" barrel TCP, three expanded properly, and two failed to expand at all and overpenetrated.

In this test I'm using the synthetic ballistic gelatin. The test pistol was a Glock 42, with 3.25" barrel.

Note: I'm not making any claims for these videos other than that these are the results I achieved, in my own testing, from the stated pistol. I have no intention to make a blanket endorsement or indictment of any product, only to review and report what I found in a given instance. Obviously it is incumbent upon each individual to conduct their own research and make up their own mind about which defensive ammunition is best for their own purposes, in their own firearms.
