Bud’s Gun Shop: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php?utm_source=hickok45&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=hickok45_yt Thought this Memorial Day weekend would be an appropriate time to bring out my old WWII Colt USGI 1911 treasure. Thanks to Federal Premium for the ammo: http://www.federalpremium.com/ We cut out a little of the video where we had the serious malfunction; it got a little tedious with my minute or two of brainlessness, trying to figure out what was wrong. Finally, I saw that the rear slide plate cover had slid down and was blocking the slide from closing. Maybe the firing pin spring finally needs replacing. I've never had that happen on a 1911 before, but for some reason the firing pin did not return fast enough and allowed the cover to slide down a bit. Easy, quick fix if I'd noticed the problem sooner. Target is on Ebay. It should dry out in a couple of days from the collateral 2-liter damage. :-)
