My short answer to the questions as to what ammo is best, or what ammo I buy for practice and carry.
My guess is that a lot of people who fret and fret over getting the magic bullet with the most extreme expansion are often the same ones who might be served better to focus on becoming more proficient with the firearm, and then at that point study the sacred scrolls of "bullet religion" dogma. :-) That said, some Hollow Points actually DO perform better than others, of course. Even though the fine differences between bullet design don't rank as high with me as it does with some folks, it's kind of a "why not" issue. Apparently, the PDX1, the Gold Dot, the HST, etc. work pretty well, so one might as well carry something that seems to perform well in tests, all else being equal.
