Proper starting loads are imperative for your safety when reloading for service rifles using military spec brass. While commercial manuals do not normally feature this data, there are ways to calculate the proper starting charge which I will highlight in the video. I also discuss some considerations regarding seating depth, crimping, powder charging, bullet seating, and final inspection before heading to the range.

Initial load development should always consist of charge weights increasing in about .3 gr increments until a max charge is found, then work within that range to find your pet load. Hope you have enjoyed this series on handloading for the M1A rifle.
